Information we collect
When you contact us or request storage, we may collect your name, work email, phone number, organisation, project or site details, material and timing requirements, and the information in your message. Squarespace, our website host, also provides website analytics and may process technical information such as pages viewed, device and browser details, approximate location, and referral source. If you use the booking link, Calendly processes information you enter there under its own privacy notice.
How we use it
We use enquiry information to respond, assess a request, prepare a proposal, and provide services you ask for. We use technical information to operate, secure, and understand use of the website. We may also use or retain information to meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims. Depending on the activity, our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, or compliance with a legal obligation. Where consent is required, we will ask for it.
Who receives information
We use Squarespace to host this website and provide its website tools and analytics. We may share relevant information with service providers who help us operate the website or respond to you, and with professional advisers, insurers, or public authorities where needed or required by law. We do not sell personal information. Calendly receives information you submit when you choose to book through its service.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information only for as long as needed to respond and manage the relationship, and then for a period appropriate to our legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations. If an enquiry becomes a storage service, the service and customer records are handled under the applicable service terms and retention requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to provide a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain uses, or provide it in a portable format where the law provides that right. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact hollie@side-yard.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and security
Squarespace and website features may use cookies or similar technologies for core operation and analytics. See our Cookie Policy for more information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information we hold.
Changes
We may update this notice when our website or practices change. The latest version will appear on this page.
